Kiosk manufacturer PYE said it has entered into an agreement with Shift4 Payments. The partnership will combine PYE’s integrated kiosk solutions with Shift4’s unified commerce platform to provide an end-to-end payment experience for merchants and their customers.
Birmingham, AL-based PYE designs and engineers self-service solutions, including both the hardware and the software to run them. Its products, which range from freestanding and tabletop models to mobile applications, are deployed in a host of independent restaurants and hotels nationwide.
Shift4, headquartered in Allentown, PA, provides payment processing and point-of-sale solutions for a wide range of industries, including restaurants and hospitality. Its commerce ecosystem – said to include everything a business might need to accept payments from a single source – is reportedly used by more than 200,000 businesses nationwide to process more than $200 billion in transactions annually.
“The pandemic placed a greater reliance on kiosks as businesses were shut off for months from direct, face-to-face contact with consumers,” said Jegil Dugger, founder and chief executive of Alabama-based startup PYE.
“The demand for a contactless, unattended ordering and payment experience will continue to be high, even in a post-COVID environment," Jegil continued. "We’re confident in the ability of our kiosks and, more importantly, in our ability to help our customers and partners thrive.”
