Hi Jan,
Great question!

The industry is changing and we are adapting. Recently Google, for example, removed their prohibition to using Schema on 3rd party reviews and they now readily make their reviews available via an API.

While we see a ton of value on generating original review content for your site, having access to your reviews from 3rd parties give you the choice of how and when to deploy these additional reviews.

Question on the new API: have you done this in a way that defeats the “syndicating & posting duplicate reviews content is bad” advice you’ve trained me to believe? Assuming so, do you think there are SEO benefits to running the reviews?

Thanks Jeff!
That’s certainly something we’re looking at. As we roll out the WiFi Portal we’re learning a lot about special offer and coupon delivery that may make it into the rest of the product.

The badge is sensational and looks great on my client websites. The Wifi portal looks nice, but I work more with service businesses. How about integrating g5s with a coupon delivery system also? That would service my purposes much better. Keep up the good work!

Hi Matt,
Thanks for trying out the new feature!
It’s not possible right now to do that, but you could use the Testimonials Badge (summary view) on your website, and have it link to your Testimonials Page with however many testimonials you want to show. We’re working on lots of configuration options for multiple testimonials widgets which would allow you to do what you are after. It’s something we’re working on but don’t have a date for yet. Stay tuned!

I really like the fact that I can now change the widget to show less than 5 reviews. I have the widget in the sidebar and 5 was too many – was pushing the page too far down. I also have a “reviews” page. Since I have the widget set to only show 3 reviews, this full page only shows 3 as well. It would be nice if I could have the sidebar show 3 reviews, but the full page show say 10.

Is that currently possible?

Matt
